répondre: Elixir Strings coat the entire string, protecting against tone-deadening gunk.
  • question: What is the advantage of using POLYWEB Coating?

répondre: POLYWEB Coating provides a slick, fast feel to the playing experience.
  • question: Are there different options for texture and tone?

répondre: Yes, Elixir Strings offers both coated and uncoated options for different preferences.
  • question: Can you confirm the packaging says 'with anti-rust plain steels'?

répondre: Yes, the packaging states that it includes anti-rust plain steels.
  • question: I have a buzz on the D string 14 fret that I didn't have before. Anyone experience this after stringing up their guitar?

répondre: It could be due to the action or intonation of the guitar. Check those factors to resolve the issue.
  • question: A string broke under a week after I put the polyweb mediums on. Why did this happen?

répondre: Over-tensioning the string could have caused it to break. Be careful when tuning to avoid over-tightening.
  • question: Why is this cheaper than nanoweb coating? Also, is the coating poisonous in any way?

répondre: These strings last longer than nanoweb coated strings. The coating is not poisonous.
  • question: Can you please verify that these strings have the anti-rust treated plain steels? Thanks!

  • question: My high e string broke after 2 weeks! What should I do and who should I contact?

répondre: Contact the manufacturer through their website to request a replacement. However, some users have experienced issues with Elixir strings.
  • question: I understand that these coated strings last much longer. I'm just curious about the blend of steel-iron underneath?

répondre: These strings are regular steel strings with a micro-thin coating. They feel similar to strings treated with Fast Fret.
  • question: My high E string broke after only turning it a few times. Can I have a replacement?

répondre: It is unlikely that you will be able to obtain a replacement for the broken string.
  • question: I put these strings on 12/27/14 and the D string started fraying within three or four days. What can I do?

répondre: Fraying of the coating on strings 4, 5, and 6 can occur over time due to picking. However, they still sound new despite the fraying.

Elixir Strings 12025 Editorial Review

Elixir 12052 Strings Electric Guitar Strings W NANOWEB Coating, Light .010-.046 are renowned for their exceptional longevity and bright sound profile, making them a favorite among musicians. Users have praised the strings for maintaining clarity even after prolonged use, standing out against conventional uncoated options that degrade more quickly. Many guitarists appreciate the reduced hassle of frequent string changes, often only needing to replace them monthly, while still enjoying a vibrant tone. The Nanoweb coating provides a natural feel and helps prevent black fingers from string residue. However, players note that the coating can fray over heavily used areas, though they still consider these strings a top choice due to their performance and reliability.
