How does this work?
répondre: The latch has a magnet that automatically locks the gate when it swings shut. It makes a clicking noise when it locks, but it works great. -

I have an opening between the gate and post of slightly greater than 1 inch (about 1 1/8"). Will this latch work?
répondre: You may have to put a small block of wood between the two pieces to shim them and get them closer together. The magnet is strong, but we are not sure if it will function properly if the gate and post are too far apart. It has been successfully installed at a gap of 5/8 inch. -

When you pull the latch does it stay open i.e. once closed we can pull and leave it unlatched?
