    répondre: You can topcoat it if you want it glossier, but it's not necessary for a nice finish. It is urethane after all.

    répondre: It needs nothing for a finish, but you can use a sealant if you like.

    répondre: No, this is more of a dark espresso color, not red oak. Sorry, we don't have photos.

    répondre: I haven't noticed it being lighter, but you could have received an old can. Sometimes the solids settle at the bottom.

    répondre: Yes, you must prep the wood by removing old stain or paint before using this type of stain. Varathane does make a similar colored stain that is designed to be used over a surface that has already been stained or painted.
