    répondre: I'm not a qualified dietician but I buy them on the recommendation of my Bowen therapist who promotes good gut health. Any food is gradually broken down and partially or fully absorbed along the digestive tract. The stomach only contains very mild hydrochloric acid & food like sauerkraut is supposed to be excellent for the gut. If it arrives and is absorbed where needed, having turned into chyme in the stomach & passed beyond, I would think that acidophilus acts similarly. Your question really should be directed to a more qualified medical person like a dietician or nutritionist, however, as I take them in good faith & feel some benefit but have a more limited understanding of these matters. Dr Michael Moseley writes about such things. His wife is a dietician so you may direct your research there. Hope this helps.
