On the basis of the Q&A and review information, Sculpey Original is a reliably easy-to-use brand of polymer clay. It should be baked at 275°F for an hour in order to prevent it from fracturing, but once baked it produces a strong and paintable finished product. If correctly stored in cool conditions, it can be used for years. However, it is not suitable for making plant pots or outdoor use because it will become moldy and sticky. The price of the 8-pound package is very competitive. Note that the individual blocks are not sliced and need to be subdivided by the user. Some experienced sculptors may prefer firmer clay products, such as Super Sculpey.
