The Hamilton Beach 2 Slice Toaster with Extra-Wide Slots is a sturdy and attractive toaster that does the job expected. The toaster has an easy-to-use dial setting that allows Consistent browning and striping on both sides of the bread and automatically releases when the preferred texture is achieved. It comes with a removable crumb tray that makes cleaning very easy after each use. The toaster has a good length cord that is suitable for kitchen appliances sitting on a countertop and has an attractive black gloss finish that hides greasy fingers. It is small enough to store inside of a cabinet and would make a lovely gift. However, some customers have expressed disappointment about the toaster. In one case, a customer received the toaster dirty, while others say it is slow to warm and couldn't fit 12 grain slices, so had to cut them to fit. The most worrying reviews are from customers who had the toaster make loud noises and smoke coming out of it, which led to the toaster exploding. One customer warned that it is a faulty model that should not be sold to the public.
