The 9860 KBMD F-B-R Forward-Brake-Reverse Switch has been well-received by customers. The switch is compatible with the Baldor BC 140 controller and can also be used with the KBIC-120 and KBIC-125 speed controllers, although it is recommended to use the KBMD-240D drive for these controllers. The 9860 and SC-9860A are the same part, so customers who have previously purchased the SC-9860A can be assured that it is the correct switch. One customer asked about the difference between the 9860 and the 9480A switch. The 9860 is a mechanical reversing switch for the KBMD-240D Nema 1, DC motor controls and includes a DB resistor to bring the motor to a stop before reversing it. The 9480A switch, on the other hand, is a reversing switch for the KBAC package A&B controls, which are Nema 4X controls for AC motors. However, it is important to note that the 9860 switch cannot be used to reverse a 240 volt single phase 3/4 hp AC motor unless the motor is reversible and the field winding wiring can be switched.
