The Avantone CV-12 microphone comes with a shock mount, a wooden box, a silver carrying case, power cord and the red box. The red box supplies power to the microphone and allows selecting different patterns such as omni, figure 8, super cardioid, among others. Users recommend leaving the microphone on for at least three days straight to break in the tube. The microphone has a clean and warm sound to it, producing no sibilance and having a warm overall character. Its sound quality is much warmer and crispier than any condenser not tube microphone.
