    Answer: To compete with your previous best or another rider’s PR in real time.

    Answer: LiveTrack, Group Track, smart notifications, rider-to-rider messaging and built-in Incident Detection.
  • Question: Does it monitor Vo2 Max and recovery time?

    Answer: Yes, it does when used with option power and heart rate monitors.
  • Question: What is the standard mount that comes with the "unit only" vs. the mount with the mountain bike bundle?

    Answer: The unit comes with two mounts, both the standard quarter-turn style. One mount is the "out-front" bracket that puts the unit in front of the handlebars about 3 inches. The other is to simply mount the unit to anything you can put the rubber bands around.
  • Question: Will it automatically upload my rides to Stava through Bluetooth?

    Answer: Yes and no. When you finish a ride, turn on Bluetooth on your phone and open the Garmin Connect app. It usually syncs with the 520 plus and uploads the ride automatically to both Garmin and Strava. If it does not sync, turn off Bluetooth on the phone and then turn it back on, go into the Connect app, and select sync for it to work.
  • Question: Does this pair with Garmin Vivoactive 3? Curious because my watch measures my heart rate.

    Answer: Yes, it does! You are able to broadcast your HR from the watch to the Edge pretty easily.
  • Question: Does it come with a charger?

    Answer: No, it does not come with its own charger but you can plug the USB cable into most any USB port style charger, PC, laptop or even a power bank to charge it.
  • Question: Does it work with Varia?

    Answer: Yes.
  • Question: I do not have a smartphone. Can I use this to preload routes from a computer? I need maps and turn by turn navigation.

    Answer: Yes, you can use the Garmin Connect app on your computer.

    Answer: Yes.
  • Question: Does it give altitude, grade and wind speed?

    Answer: It gives elevation and grade, but not wind speed.
  • Question: Easily Moved bike to bike?

    Answer: Yes, one of the included mounts uses elastic bands for mounting on stem or handlebar which can be easily removed and reinstalled on another bike.
  • Question: Can you load routes from google maps?

    Answer: Build in Garmin Connect and download with wireless sync. Preferred is build course with Strava on laptop (not possible on app) then go to Strava app on 520+ click on your course and it download and come up in your 520+ navigation courses for use.

This Garmin bike computer comes with two mounts and has everything you need to mount it to your bike. It can pair with Garmin Vivoactive 3 to broadcast your heart rate from the watch to the Edge. The Garmin Connect app can be used to preload routes from a computer. The device can also work with the Varia system to give audible beeps for rear-approaching cars. It provides elevation and grade data but not wind speed. It can be easily moved bike to bike with the included elastic band mount. Some users find the menu to be unnecessarily complicated. The battery life is great, but some customers have reported a defective cable port after a few years and poor customer service from Garmin.
